An informal diplomatic format of major powers — the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy — that coordinated policy towards the former Yugoslavia. In 1998–1999 it set out demands on the parties in Kosovo and convened the Rambouillet talks in February 1999. Disagreements among its members, especially with Russia, limited joint action in the Security Council.
