Mission
This digital archive and public-memory platform is devoted to the Kosovo War, Albanian resistance and the Kosovo Liberation Army. Our aim is to document, explain, preserve and make accessible the history and testimony of this period — for researchers, for families, for pupils and students, and for the diaspora.
The archive follows the historical development of the conflict: the political and social conditions before the war, the move from peaceful to armed resistance, the origins, organization and legacy of the KLA, the experiences of civilians, refugees, political prisoners, combatants and families, the documented repression and crimes of Serbian and Yugoslav state structures, international diplomacy, NATO's intervention and the legal proceedings that followed.
Editorial position
The historical experiences of Kosovo Albanians deserve to be documented through Albanian voices, archives, scholarship and family testimony. This archive recognizes the KLA as a central force in Kosovo's armed resistance and liberation history.
Historical recognition does not require concealing documented abuses or allegations. We reject the idea that responsibility attributed to specific individuals automatically criminalizes an entire people, every member of an organization or the aim of liberation. Individual responsibility, institutional responsibility, historical interpretation and collective identity remain separate concepts. Claims are tied to evidence, disputed events are marked as disputed, and court decisions are presented with their exact procedural status.
Independence and transparency
This is an initial release of the archive. Many materials have been drafted from cited sources but are still awaiting full editorial review, and this is marked on every page concerned.
The composition of the editorial board, the scholarly reviewers and information on funding will be published on this page. We do not publish names, roles or supporters that do not exist, and we do not display invented visitor or archive statistics. Any change to the editorial position will be recorded with a date.
What this archive is not
This archive is not a party platform, a political campaign or a fan page. It is not used to blame Serbs, Albanians, Roma, Bosniaks or any other group collectively, and it does not serve as uncritical propaganda.
Albanian resistance can be honoured in a lasting way only if its history is told with evidence. For that reason the archive also presents contested questions, allegations and court decisions concerning individuals, and postwar violence — each in its own context and with its exact status.

If you notice an inaccuracy, a missing source or an unfair wording, please send it through the contribution page, together with the source that supports your observation. Corrections of fact are noted publicly with a date.
Families, witnesses and researchers who hold documents, photographs or testimony can contribute through the same page. Nothing is published without editorial review and the documented permission of the person submitting it.
