According to BIRN, the killings took place “within earshot” of British peacekeepers. UNMIK police arrested a suspect in 2007, who was released two months later for lack of evidence; the case passed to EULEX in 2010 and, according to BIRN, was closed in 2017 [1] [2] [3]. Serbian officials attribute the killings to Albanian perpetrators or KLA members; this is not a judicial finding.

This event belongs to the postwar period and is treated separately from the 1998–1999 war. The perpetrators remain unidentified.
